Music Director Position

Information and Interest Form

At Christ the Foundation we delight in the shape of the Anglican liturgy and readily seek to be formed by it and through it.

We stand with Christians throughout the ages in our understanding that in worship we have a real and vital encounter with the living God, participating on earth in the eternal praise of heaven. We see our music ministry as supporting and encouraging this vision of worship. While music (and liturgy, for that matter) is performed and evokes emotion, we intentionally avoid making our music a performance and overly emotive. Instead, music aids us in the act of worship, helping us to rightly respond to the encounter with God.

Our choices in worship music songs blend traditional hymns (such as Holy, Holy, Holy, How Great Thou Art, or Immortal Invisible God Only Wise) with contemporary songs of praise (from artists such as Sandra McCracken, Wendell Kimbrough, and Matt Boswell) that reflect the richness of our faith. We particularly enjoy songs that take the lyrics of older hymns and put more contemporary melodies to them.

We envision our music team to meaningfully and spiritually minister to God’s people each week through the lyrics, melody, and beauty of well crafted songs, led on guitar or piano, with bass and vocal accompaniment.
